Unleashing the Power of Your Vision: Lessons from Helen Keller

Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish.

When we think of vision, we often think of our physical ability to see.

But vision is so much more than that - it's the ability to see the bigger picture, to have a sense of purpose and direction in life.

And if there's anyone who embodied this better than anyone, it's Helen Keller.

Helen Keller was a remarkable woman who overcame tremendous challenges. She was deaf and blind from a young age and could only communicate through touch. But despite these limitations, she was determined to make a difference in the world.

She did not live as a victim, she lived as an overcomer.

Helen had a vision for her life, and she pursued it relentlessly. She learned to read and write in Braille and went on to graduate from college with honors. She became an advocate for people with disabilities and traveled the world, giving speeches and inspiring others.

But it wasn't just Helen's determination that made her successful. It was her ability to see the bigger picture, to have a vision for her life that gave her purpose and direction.

So what can we learn from Helen Keller about the power of vision? Here are a few key takeaways:

  1. Vision gives us direction and purpose. Without a vision for our lives, we can feel lost and aimless. But when we have a clear sense of where we're headed and what we want to accomplish, we can channel our energy and focus towards achieving our goals.

  2. Vision inspires us to overcome obstacles. Helen Keller faced immense challenges in her life, but her vision gave her the strength and determination to keep going. When we have a strong sense of purpose, we're more likely to push through difficulties and persevere in the face of adversity.

  3. Vision helps us prioritize our time and energy. When we have a clear sense of what we want to accomplish, we can prioritize our time and energy towards the things that matter most. We're less likely to get distracted by the day-to-day busyness of life and more likely to stay focused on our long-term goals.

As we enter different seasons of our lives, it's important to revisit our vision and make sure it's still aligned with our passions and goals.

For mom's entering the empty nest season, this can be a particularly challenging time - with children leaving home, it can be easy to feel lost and unsure of what's next.

But just like Helen Keller, we can use this season to re-evaluate our vision and pursue new opportunities. By working with a coach or mentor to create a roadmap towards our goals, we can unleash the power of our vision and make our dreams a reality.

So if you're feeling stuck or uncertain about your next steps, take inspiration from Helen Keller and embrace the power of vision. With a clear sense of purpose and direction, you can achieve anything you set your mind to.
