Judges 18:5-6  Then they said to him, "Please inquire of God to learn whether our journey will be successful." The priest answered them, "Go in peace. Your journey has the Lord's approval."

"Faith is taking the first step, even when you don't see the whole staircase." ~ Martin Luther King Jr.

Before you can finish anything, you have to  -  START.

To start your health and wellness journey, you've got to start. Stop saying, "One day, I will start" or "On Monday, I will start". You just have to start.

Would you start if you knew that you could be successful, and not only successful but that you have the Lord's blessing and approval to get healthy and lose weight? Most of us would say, "Let's Go!"

But many times, when we try to start, our brain starts to pull us back with fear and doubt.   Our brain loves certainty and familiarity. So when you decide to get healthy and lose some weight, that doesn't feel certain or familiar. What is familiar, is the fact that you lost some weight before but gained it back, and your brain tries to convince you to not go there again.

You will start thinking phrases like, you can't do this, you've done this before and it didn't work, you are going to be miserable, and your brain, thinking it is helping you, will start flooding your mind with negativity.

My question to you is, have you ever brought God into your weight loss journey? He wants to bring you into the promised land of being healthy, feeling great, having energy, and being at your ideal weight.

That's when things started to change for me... when I brought God into my weight loss and healing journey. I had to make God a part of it.

Have you ever asked God how much he wants you to weigh? Have you ever followed his path? He has a path. Have you ever followed it? Do you know what he says about you and your health?

The Bible has a lot to say about our health. God came to give us abundant life, and satan is the one who has come to steal, kill, and destroy our lives, and he doesn't care how it happens. Satan wants to keep us sick and broke because if he can keep us this way, he knows we will be ineffective in living out the plans and purposes that God has for us.

3 John 1:2-3

I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health just as your soul prospers. I rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you just as you walk in the truth. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

Not only does God want us to prosper, but he wants us to walk in truth. Are you walking in truth when it comes to your health, or are you walking in excuses? Are you believing the lies that Satan is feeding you? Lies like: it's okay to be overweight, that's just how life goes, nobody can lose weight at your age, being overweight runs in your family.

God rejoices when we believe the truth, speak the truth, and walk in the truth of what His Word says.

When I lost my weight it's because I brought God into my weight loss journey.  I experienced weight loss in a perimenopausal and menopausal season when most people say you can't lose weight. With God, all things are possible, and when you follow His ways, you can.

If you start to declare and believe the truth of God's word, you will be successful. God says, that not only will you be successful, but He approves of this journey because  He wants you to be healthy.

Many times when it comes to our health, we can feel condemnation because we are overweight, we overate, shouldn't have eaten that, etc………..

In Jesus, there is no condemnation. There's no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. But He also wants to get us out of Egypt, out of the land of bondage, and He wants to take us to the promised land, the land of food and freedom.

Just like the children of Israel had to follow the cloud and the fire to get to the promised land, we have to follow the holy spirit. He will speak to you and lead you every step of the way.

And the best part is when you're tempted, he will provide a way out. So it doesn't matter if you're just starting to lose weight or if you're starting over. If you include God in the journey, you will make it.

Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase, faith is saying, God, I'm leaving Egypt and I'm heading to the promised land.

So, if you're ready to start your journey to the promised land of better health and wellbeing, consider taking these important steps:

  1. Start a journal: Not just a food journal, but a journal to document how God is leading you, what He is speaking to you, and the insights and revelations He is showing you in your health and weight loss journey.
  2. Ask yourself: What do I need to start this journey? Pray and seek guidance from God on what steps to take to begin this transformative journey.
