Peppermint Energy Bites

Nov 17, 2023

I recently did a post about how fruits are good for us and while some people are afraid to eat fruit because they have natural sugars, I outlined all of their benefits!

Check out the post here

And since we are talking about fruit, did you know that dates are one of nature's sweeteners?

The antioxidants, minerals, and vitamins in dates help support brain, digestive, and heart health and protect against disease. Some evidence suggests that dates may help ease natural labor. You can use dates as a sweetener in recipes for smoothies or oatmeal or eat them as is.

Here are 5 benefits of dates:

1. They are nutritious

Dates contain several vitamins and minerals, in addition to fiber and antioxidants. Just be careful because they are high in calories since they are dried fruit.😉

2. They are high in fiber

Dates are high in fiber, which may be beneficial for preventing constipation and controlling blood sugar.

3. High in disease-fighting antioxidants

Dates contain several types of antioxidants that may help prevent the development of certain chronic illnesses, such as heart disease, cancer, Alzheimer’s, and diabetes.

4. Promotes brain health

Dates may be helpful for lowering inflammation and preventing plaques from forming in the brain, which may be important for preventing Alzheimer’s disease.

5. Natural Sweetener

Dates are a healthy substitute for white sugar in recipes due to their sweet taste, nutrients, fiber and antioxidants.

Since the holidays are coming, I wanted to share this quick and easy naturally sweet treat recipe with you!
