Leaders Are Readers
Have you ever heard the quote from Harry S. Truman that said, “not all readers are leaders, but all leaders are readers.”?
Most leaders have great habits, and one of them is so simple...reading!
Leaders are readers because they know that knowledge is the key to success and reading books is a great way to get that knowledge.
Don’t want to be a leader? Well…. Surprise! You probably are in some capacity.
Are you:
A Parent
An older sibling
A Boss
A Co-worker
A Pastor
A Group leader
Then you are a leader! And when you lead others, there is so much value in growing intellectually.
If you have a dream to be a parent, group leader, pastor, start your own business, or simply be a better version of yourself, the first step may be to start learning!
We all have a responsibility to do the best with what we have right now.
“The master said, ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!’ Matthew 25:23 (NLT)
Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you. The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding. Proverbs 4:6-7 (NIV)
Reading for just 15-30 minutes per day will help you to:
Get a better night’s sleep
Increase your intelligence
Minimize brain decline
Improve your mood
Have better social connections
Have a better vocabulary
Improve your focus
I don’t know about you, but I would like to improve on a few things on that list!
Here are several books that I have read, and a few are on my list to read. Some are Christian, and some are secular, but they are all going to grow you!
You can even listen to audiobooks! I may have one coming out for my book Moving Forward soon :)
