How To Live Through A Bad Day

This past Sunday, I was honored to speak at C3 Church. It was Palm Sunday!

If you don’t know what Palm Sunday is, it is the Sunday before Easter that commemorates Jesus' arrival in Jerusalem and is mentioned in each of the four Gospels. Jesus entered the city knowing He would be tried and crucified and welcomed His fate to rise from the grave and save us from sin!

You may not know this, but while Jesus was on the cross, He made 7 statements. In my sermon on Sunday, titled “How to Live Through a Bad Day,” I spoke about His first statement. You can watch it here! But I wanted to share them all with you today!

They are spread out through all the different gospels.

We all have bad days, and I hope that these statements encourage you when you have one.

If Jesus lived through a bad day, then we can too!

Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.” Luke 23:34

And Jesus replied, “I assure you, today you will be with me in paradise.” Luke 23:43

When Jesus saw his mother standing there beside the disciple he loved, he said to her, “Dear woman, here is your son.” John 19:26

Then at three o’clock Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” which means “My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?” Mark 15:34

Jesus knew that his mission was now finished, and to fulfill Scripture he said, “I am thirsty.” John 19:28

When Jesus had tasted it, he said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. John 19:30

Then Jesus shouted, “Father, I entrust my spirit into your hands!” And with those words he breathed his last. Luke 23:46
