Peace Over Your Finances
Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they? Matthew 6:26
And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19
Peace in your finances is possible.
On a regular basis, we usually worry about money more than we realize but in light of our current events, I am sure that the thoughts about financial stability have increased.
Even when things are going well financially, there’s always something that comes up. Money is a universal issue. But the real issue has nothing to do with money. More money doesn’t equal more peace.
God promised to meet all of our needs. The Bible is filled with promises and examples of God as our provider. He takes care of His children and meets their needs both physically and spiritually. God cares deeply about our physical needs.
Sometimes it can be easier to trust God in spiritual situations than physical. I can trust Him for peace and guidance, but we have a much harder time when we need to trust Him with our bills. But Jesus was clear that it is the Father’s heart to take care of His children’s needs.
Jesus commands us not to worry. Worry is actually a sin. Think about it this way… worry is simply a lack of faith that God is who He says He is and that He will provide for us the way He promises in His Word. It’s doubting the character of God.
Worry doesn’t make anything better and that includes your finances. Have you ever achieved anything in worrying? Does worrying about your life, your health, your kids, or your career amount to anything? Why do we think that worrying will help things? It won’t. Jesus said so.
You will never truly be at peace if you tell yourself that you’ll be at peace when your finances are secure.
In the end, financial security doesn’t exist, but financial peace is possible when we place our trust in a God who provides for His children
Trust in Him. What are your fears? No matter what you are going through, it’s no surprise to God. He’s not unsure of what’s around the corner or unprepared for whatever you’re going through. Put your trust in Him and be confident in His plans for your life.
