Vision BoardsMar 19, 2021
Where there is no vision the people perish. Proverbs 29:18
John Maxwell teaches that vision leaks.
You have to see your vision and keep it in front of you. When you can’t see it, or it leaks out, you can lose hope.
A vision board keeps your vision and dreams in front of you.
It also helps you identify what you are dreaming about.
We all have goals, dreams, and visions.
A goal is something you work on every day.
A dream is something that will take someone else’s help to accomplish or come to fruition.
A vision is an impossible dream that will take someone else to accomplish and a miracle.
When you put a vision board into action, you want to add things that will take a miracle to come to fruition. And you want things on your board that will take other people to help you accomplish your dreams.
Some areas that you could have some dreams and vision for are:
When I first saw the list of categories, I really couldn’t think of a lot to add. However, as I went throughout my day, things would come to me. I allowed myself to dream and have a vision of things that would take a miracle. I didn’t have to figure out all of the details. I just needed to write it down.
I started with a list, and then it went on my board.
I want to sell 1000 books.
I want to make QSSC in Juice Plus by the end of 2021.
I would love to see the C3 College have 100 students.
I want to see our high school students living a life full of purpose, laughing, and enjoying life.
I would love to be able to buy our family farm. (It is my grandfather’s legacy, and I don’t want it to leave the family ~ miracle.)
Exercise at least three times a week.
I would like to run a half marathon.
I want to have a weekly date night with Matt.
I want to have a monthly date day with at least one of my kids, if not all three.
Read a book a month
I want to travel to Houston and Missouri to see family.
Start my day with God.
I would love to start a podcast.
I want some new jewelry.
I just jotted things down as I thought of them from every area of my life!
Vision boards are personal. You may read some of my ideas and think that it’s not a big deal, and I may read something of yours and think that it’s not a big deal, but a vision board is not for others. It is for you.
You can even do a vision board with your spouse or kids! It can be super insightful to see what they are dreaming about.
I listened to a training by Katheryn Lee, who is a life coach, business strategist, and social justice advocate. Kathrine is the creator of the faith-based personal development system, The Ultimate Source, and Founder of the non-profit, Pure Hope Foundation. She is the author of Interrupted, The Joy & Mystery of a God-Directed Life, and has guided countless individuals to discover the unique design for their own lives. You may recognize Kathrine from one of her appearances on the Oprah Winfrey Show.
When I heard her training, I was inspired not just to do a vision board but also to dream and have a vision for this next year.
I know everything on my board is not a huge dream, but I figured that it would enlarge my capacity to dream even bigger as I accomplish some smaller dreams.
So I just started. I just did it.
I would love to offer her teaching to you as a way to say thanks for reading my blog and being a part of my life! You can watch it here!
If you make a vision board, I would love to see it and set up a time to talk about your dreams and visions!
