It's Not too Late

January 6 through January 26,  we started 21 Days of Prayer & Fasting.  We are joining with hundreds of churches around the world.  It is not too late to start. 

Why Should We Fast?

Fasting helps to get us in spiritual order.  Our body and soul, mind, will, and emotions, can get so loud it is hard to hear the Holy Spirit speaking to us.  Fasting allows us to die to self and hear the Holy Spirit.  Jesus also tells us that some things we can only know through prayer and fasting.  I don't want to miss anything God wants to speak to me.  

What Do You Fast?

There are many types of fasts but we are doing what is called a Daniel's Fast, it's where you cut out the meat, sweets, and bread.  There is a list of foods below.  But you can do a partial fast and cut out any types of food.  You can cut out just sugar or fast foods or processed foods.  This is not a Daniel Diet, however, you do cut out certain foods to detox your body.  This is the Daniel Fast to remove food so you can focus on your spiritual life.   

Feed Your Spirit

Make sure you set aside some time to feed your Spirit.  Every morning at 6 am on C3 Church Facebook page there will be a leader reminding you of our prayer focus for the day and then leading us in prayer.  And church we love called Church of the Highlands has a one-hour prayer service every day at 7 am est and then it stays up for 24 hours so you can watch it whenever is convenient. Find a Bible plan you can read during the fast on YouVersion.  Attend your churches prayer services.  C3 is having prayer services January 12 and 19th at 9 am.  We are also having an area-wide prayer service on January 17 at 7 pm.  Then January 26 we are having a church conference called Dream Team Conference.   

Support and Accountability

It is not too late to be a part of the 21 Days of Prayer & Fasting Coaching.  There is already teaching and Q & A and recipes and lots of help.  The calls are on Thursday's at 10 am and are recorded so you can watch whenever it works for you.  Don't let fear keep you from fasting, you can do it.  

When you give God first He blesses the rest, so give Him the first of your year and know He will do exceedingly abundantly more than you can ask or imagine.

Daniel Fast Suggested Foods

Whole Grains: Brown Rice, Oats, Barley, Quinoa (this is my favorite, it also a protein)

Legumes: Dried Beans, Pinto Beans, Split Peas, Lentils, Black Eyed Peas

Fruits: Apples, Apricots, Bananas, Blackberries, Blueberries, Boysenberries, Cantaloupe, Cherries, Cranberries, Figs, Grapefruit, Grapes, Guava, Honeydew Melon, Kiwi, Lemons, Limes, Mangoes, Nectarines, Papayas, Peaches, Pears, Pineapples, Plums, Pomegranate, Prunes, Raisins, Raspberries, Strawberries, Tangelos, Tangerines, Tomatoes, Watermelon
